Harsher Animal Cruelty Laws

The link between Domestic Violence & Cruelty to Animals is undeniable. According to the Humane Society:

·        71% of Domestic Violence victims reported that their abuser had also abused animals.

·        Pet Abuse was also found to have occurred in 88% of cases where Child Abuse was reported.

Still more studies find that:

·        45% of School Shooters had a history of animal abuse.

·        And 21% of Serial Murderers admitted to abusing animals during their childhood.

I think the message is clear. Animal Abuse equals Domestic Abuse. As your State Representative, I will bring forth legislation to increase the penalties for cases of Animal Cruelty.
